Instead of a mud puddle, we now have a paved area and a little wall to separate it from (what will eventually be) the garden. There is a curved area near the kitchen that will be the herb garden.
Now the dryer has broken down, however we do now have a washing line. But it's raining, and we are going to Melbourne tomorrow for five days (to this conference) and haven't been able to wash clothes for a week. However, the rain isn't heavy or steady and I'm managing with a clothes horse, hanger stand and draping clothes over the new line - did I mention we can't find the pegs?
We would both really like to spend the weekend pottering at home. However, the painters will be able to come in while we are away and finish all the inside painting. And we are very privileged to be supported to go to conferences, and it's a special buzz this time that we are both fully participating but not presenting any papers.
Sometimes everything seems really difficult, and this week has been one of those times. We're struggling to see the upside, even though we know it's there. I'm just going to contemplate my lovely paved back yard again and imagine those herbs.
