I thought I'd showcase two very cute patterns that I used for winterwarm this year: Jussi's aviatrix hat and Jolene's honeycomb scarf (rav link - sorry). I got permission from both of these designers to use the pattern. Although this isn't strictly necessary as they aren't being sold, it felt like a good idea.
I made three of the hats. This is a very cute and easy knit - like all the best patterns ingenious in its shaping and in the clarity with which it is written. I made two in one colour, but on the third I experimented with using a different colour for each segment. This worked well, because I changed colour after the reversed row that creates the 'stripe' across the top of the hat.
I also made three scarves, but only two in Jolene's neat little pattern. I didn't worry about the honeycomb texture - I felt that speed in execution trumped detail for these garments. But again, the shaping is clever and the instructions are really clear. The third scarf, the striped one, is simply garter stitch with shaped ends and a buttonhole near one end. (I will put a button on the other end.) I used three colours: two solid and one variegated, and changed colour every row by picking up the lower colour at the beginning of each row. Easy, neat and effective.

I've also been enjoying making some simple projects for Winterwarm. Like you, I've repeated the same patterns. I'm still trying to work out why this repetition (usually with colour changes) gives me such pleasure.

Ooh, those are very nice! I love well-thought-out patterns that turn into nice useful objects.
