Just home from my first session at physio. Had a great chance for a new 'view from where I sit' picture - but no camera! I'll try and get one next time. It was like being transported back across the Tasman. The place felt quite crowded by the presence of four young Maori men from the local Sports High School. Of course, being a middle-aged woman I was invisible to them, but it was fun just sitting listening to them and their familiar speech rhythms while I knitted and tried to not acknowledge the pain caused by the ice on my foot.
Now I have a small group of exercises to do, nothing too strenuous, and I can do a kind of fake walk, putting The Boot to the ground and taking a little bit of weight on it with every step. Stairs are still difficult, both up and down. Still no swimming (sob), but what a relief not to have to take all the weight on one leg any more. And Sandra's back tomorrow!
If you've got five minutes, pop over the Jussi's and read her news, then scroll down and read her rant about undervaluing our craft. She says a mouthful.
