And we did it! Resanding, restaining, and it's done.
First the cookbooks went up. Why did we think we had so many?
Then the knitting books were sorted on the dining table, and the knitting magazines.
It looked like a big pile, but apparently we didn't have as many of those as we thought either. And we can still open the door back flat.
And all this with me feeling rather cranky because I've manged to tear something in my glut. I've done this before, but it's not as bad this time, partly because Sandra got right in there with the massage and the heat ointment and I was agressive with the anti-inflammatories and the pain killers. I couldn't sit comfortably, could only stand or lie, and couldn't easily climb stairs, so I missed SSK yesterday, which was really annoying.
Well done, women! I'm sure you have just as many cooking and knitting books and magazines as you thought you had. It's just that bookshelves are about the best-designed thing ever - they really do their job well.

I'm sorry about the tear - that sounds very painful. But I love the bookcase! And I especially love the pictures of each of you working on the project - something about togetherness and partnership and physically creating something - wonderful.
